Considered Problems

Throughout the different scenes there many different problems I will face when filming.

Problems I have to consider
How I will resolve these problems

Due to the time going back an hour it had meant that sunset and nightfall is earlier, this means it goes dark earlier.

When Jimmy is at his father’s grave the gravestone will have a deceased person’s name written on.

I may not be able to film at a caravan park/ in a caravan. The traditional Gypsies are nomadic therefore they live in caravans. If I do not film in a caravan it may make the opening sequence less realistic.

Problems with the weather. At the moment the weather in Manchester is continuously raining.

Filming the final shot with all the characters. It may be difficult to find a day/ time where all of the characters and me are available.
I will have to film at specific times depending on the darkness I want each scene to be.
For example:
In the scene where Jimmy is at his father grave I want this to be dark therefore I will film later than the scene where Jimmy meet Jerome as I want this scene to be natural/ bright lighting.

I will speed to zoom up so the audiences do not get the opportunity to clearly see the name of the deceased.
Another option is that I want to film this when it is raining therefore the name won’t be as clear.

I will resolve this by getting an establishing shot of a caravan park but film in rooms that are in houses but I will ensure the footage does not contain images of brickwork.

I will constantly check the weather reports for the upcoming days and base the filming around that, for example if it is raining I will film the scenes where I want the weather to be dull or film the scenes which are inside.
The films I want to be filmed in poor weather (pathetic fallacy):
  • Jimmy visits his biological father’s grave
  • Jimmy and mother hugging (devastated)
  • Maggie and Blake’s relationship
  • Jimmy and Blake’s relationship
  • Jimmy leaving: when he looks back (dull) when he looks forward (establishing shot) it is going to be bright and natural lighting
I will resolve this by arranging a day/ times based on me then ask each character on whether this day/ time is ok with them. If it is not I will adapt to a day/ time where everyone is available.
